PIA Plane Crash: QAR of the Black Box found

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-8303 crashed in a residential area near Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport a minute before landing.

It is estimated that 98 people were aboard the plane, including 90 passengers and eight flight crew members.

As per reports of Baaghi TV, an important element of Black Box known as Quick Access Record (QAR) has been recovered from the site.

The QAR provides details regarding air traffic communication and records cockpit conversations in addition to air traffic.

As per the reports, QAR was found by a rescue worker who handed it over to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials.

CAA has started the investigation of the PIA plane crash, however, preliminary investigation has revealed that the aircraft’s landing gear (wheels of the plane) caused an aborted landing attempt.
