PIA Plane Crash: Rescue Operation by Pak Army

Karachi, 23rd May: According to the report of Baaghi TV, a rescue operation by the Pakistan Army is underway at the site of the PIA plane crash in Karachi.

According to DG ISPR, 25 houses were affected by the plane crash and residents have been shifted to alternative homes. The Pakistan Army is engaged in relief operations, Rangers and social welfare organizations are also involved in the operation.

According to DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar, two passengers were safe in the plane crash, 97 bodies have been recovered from the affected area, the injured and the bodies were shifted to CMH, Jinnah, and Darul Sehat Hospital.

Debris is still scattered at the crash site, which is being removed. Other agencies, including the Pakistan Army, are engaged in relief work.

It is to be noted that the special flight PK 8303 from Lahore to Karachi crashed one minute before reaching the destination. The PIA plane Airbus A320 crashed in the residential area near Karachi Airport.

The plane was carrying 99 people including the crew. The bodies of 97 people who were killed have been recovered and two passengers have miraculously survived.

The PIA plane Airbus A320 took off from Lahore Airport at 1:10 pm. The plane, carrying 91 passengers and eight crew members, crashed at 2:37 a.m. in the Jinnah Garden area of Abadi Model Colony adjacent to the Karachi Airport runway and caught fire.
