ISLAMABAD, Sep 04 (Online Int’l): Islamabad High Court has issued a notice to PIA besides seeking reply from the Civil Aviation Authority and PIA within two weeks in the petition filed against the deduction in the salary of 21 pilots.

The case was heard by Chief Justice IHC Athar Minallah on Friday. Syed Ahmad Hassan, counsel for the pilots, appeared in the court.

The court while rejecting the pilots’ plea regarding immediate stay order remarked how can this court see if PIA will run or otherwise. Only pilots are not stakeholders but people of Pakistan also are stake holders in this institution. The court directed CAA and PIA should file a reply within 2 weeks.

The court remarked during the course of hearing that the institution may not have money due to which deduction has been made in the salary. The defence counsel told the court if the institution has no money then we should be laid off from the institution.

CJ IHC remarked we cannot go into the financial matters of any institution. You are saying that we should interfere in the financial matters of a commercial institution. The court thinks we should not interfere in the financial matters of any institution. The defence counsel told the court that deduction is being made from salary. Its solution is must. 25 percent deduction is being made from salary of pilots. PIA cannot make deduction from salary of the pilots this way legally.

The court while issuing the notice sought a reply besides adjourning the hearing of the case till September 15.
