PIA reveals guidelines to book tickets for special flights to/from US

The Government of Pakistan (GoP) is operating special charter flights in collaboration with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to repatriate Pakistanis stranded in the United States (US).

According to a PIA spokesman, initially a schedule of two flights from Washington to Pakistan has been issued. The first flight will leave Washington for Islamabad on May 10, while the second flight will leave Washington for Karachi on May 13.

In addition, another flight will depart from New Jersey for Lahore, the departure date of which will be announced soon. Moreover, the GoP is planning three more charter flights from the US, the departure dates and destinations of which will be announced later.

Pakistanis who have already registered with the embassy and consulate will be contacted for special flights.

Notably, PIA came up with guidelines to acquire ticket policies for flights to United States significantly in a bid to gin up more bookings despite coronavirus fears.

For special PIA flights operating from Washington DC (IAD) to Islamabad (ISB)on 10″May 2020, Washington D.C. (AD)to Karachi(KHT)on 13 May: 2020, Newark, New Jersey (EWR) to Lahore(LHE) and other special flights (dates etc to be announced later), those Pakistanis who registered with the Consulate General of Pakistan, New York are advised as under:

• PIA will generate PNRS and convey it to Passengers, Embassy of Pakistan in Washington, Consulate General of Pakistan. New York and NADRA.
• Passengers will then be asked to arrange payments at any NADRA mega Center in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Peshawar, Karachi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad or Hyderabad.
• Once payment fort the flight is made in Pakistan, PIA will issue the tickets and send the same to the passengers.

Details of all Pakistanis registered with the Consulate General of Pakistan, New York have been shared with the Embassy of Pakistan, Washington DC.

Moreover, PNR numbers will simultaneously be shared with each passenger as soon as they are made available by PIA.

Passengers are requested to confirm reservations for domestic flights for Washington DC/ Newark only after PNRS are issued and tickets have been procured from NADRA Centers to avoid any inconvenience.
