PM announces package for Karachi
According to the report of Baaghi TV, Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that PCIC has been formed to solve the problems of Karachi.
Talking to media in Karachi, PM Imran Khan said that one of the secrets of success against Corona virus was that we had formed a committee due to which we improved the decisions. The committee was formed in consultation with all the provinces. Karachi and Balochistan were flooded, Swat was also affected, people in Mianwali are also in trouble, because of the rains Allah put them to another test. First Karachi, where there was more rain and destruction, the same floods and rains caused other problems and will be solved at the same time. We should have come first but we consulted, just like we had built the infrastructure on Corona virus, we also built it for Karachi.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that a committee has been formed in which all stakeholders will be involved. The Pakistan Army has an important role to play in the floods. Whenever such floods occur in the world, the Army comes to the fore and works. PCIC will make decisions, 11 hundred billion historical package has been brought for Karachi. We and the provincial government together have a package of 11 hundred billion rupees.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the biggest problem of Karachi is water. We are trying to resolve it as soon as possible. We have just talked about it. We will solve the water problem in Karachi for 3 years. The second problem is the drains, there are encroachments, NDMA will clean the drains. The Sindh government has taken the responsibility to settle the poorest people. Sewerage system is also a big issue in Karachi. In this package, sewerage system will also be fixed, circular railway, roads will also be worked on. We will solve the problems now.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said that some things in Karachi came under the provincial government and some under the federal government. Working as PCIC will make it easier to form decisions. Plans are not implemented, there will be a monitoring committee that will look after the PCIC. I hope hard times have improved now.
Prime Minister Imran Khan further said that people in Balochistan are also in trouble, the situation is similar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Swat, Chitral are also flooded, Allah has put us to the test this year. Corona virus was also a huge test. Our short term program is one year and in 3 years we have to complete all the projects.
Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan arrived in Karachi accompanied by Information Minister Shibli Faraz and Member National Assembly Amir Mahmood Kayani. Prime Minister Imran Khan took an aerial view of the flood-affected districts of Karachi.
On arrival in Karachi, he was received by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and Sindh Governor Imran Ismail. At that time Prime Minister Imran Khan has reached the Governor House, the Prime Minister has reached the Governor House under the strictest security, the meeting is going on in the Governor House.
The Prime Minister’s visit to the Pakistan Stock Exchange was also scheduled but was canceled. Meanwhile, the Prime Minister had a meeting with the Board of Directors of the Stock Exchange. According to sources, the Prime Minister will also meet members of the Assembly, leaders of coalition parties and prominent businessmen and business personalities.
