Prime Minister Imran Khan officially inaugurated Road to Makkah project on Friday as first flight carrying Hajj pilgrims departed on Friday.

According to reports of Baaghitv,  Prime Minister Imran Khan formally inaugurated the ‘Road to Makkah’ project at International Islamabad Airport on Friday. The first flight of Saudi Airlines (SV-3719) with the 368 pilgrims on board took off for Madina at 11 am.

Road to Makkah project is an exclusive project aimed at facilitating Hajj intending pilgrims of Pakistan. A Ministry of Religious Affairs official speaking about the project said, “is a gift from Saudi Arabia to Pakistani intending pilgrims and 21,000 Hujjaj will benefit from this initiative.”

The project was announced by Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman (MBS) visit to Pakistan in early this year in the month of February. on the request of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

At this occasion, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, Federal Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar and Special Adviser to Prime Minister on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan were also present.
