Sept 29, 2021: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday presided over the ground breaking ceremony of rehabilitation and upgradation of Jhal Jahu Bela Road in which he will address soon.

The 80 km road in Awaran district of Balochistan is a project of the Balochistan government which will be completed by the National Highway Authority (NHA).

The two-lane road project is said to be completed in the first three years. Its cost is more than 11 billion rupees. Upon completion, it aims to improve the socio-economic condition of the region.

The Ministry of Communications, which oversees the project, says industrial, trade, agriculture, tourism and cultural activities in the province will increase once completed. The ministry said it would also create 3,000 jobs for locals. Jhal Jaho Bella Road is considered to be of great importance for advancing trade potential with Iran, Afghanistan and Central Asian states.

On Monday, PM Imran Khan inaugurated the the enormous Karachi Circular Railway (KCR). The timeline of the project is expected to be completed in less than two years and would ferry nearly half-a-million passengers daily.
