PM Khan gives road-map for local body elections in Punjab

According to a report by Baaghi TV, Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed that arrangements be made for holding elections to make the local body system functional as soon as possible.So that the problems of the people can be solved at their doorsteps through local governments.

According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Media Office, he expressed these views during a briefing on Local Bodies at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. The meeting was attended by Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar,provincial ministers and senior officials.

Prime Minister Imran Khan was informed that all administrative and legal arrangements are being made diligently and Village Panchayat Election and Local Bodies Election will be held on time. The Provincial Election Commission will complete the delimitation in 60 days from next month.After that elections can be held at village panchayat level. These elections will be completed in forty five days.

The Prime Minister was informed that local body elections could be held by the end of the year. The Prime Minister expressed satisfaction over the pace of preparation of administrative and legal requirements regarding local bodies.
