According to reports, Prime Minister Imran Khan and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani had a one-on-one meeting and discussed issues of mutual interest, including bilateral relations and the Afghan peace process.

According to details, before this important meeting, a reception was held at the Afghan presidential palace on the arrival of Prime Minister Imran Khan. On arrival at the Presidential Palace, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani received Prime Minister Imran Khan and a guard of honor was presented to PM Imran Khan. National anthems of both the countries were played during the reception.

Later, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and Prime Minister Imran Khan met one-on-one. Issues of mutual interest, including bilateral relations and the Afghan peace process, were discussed during the meeting. Pak-Afghan trade and other issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.

It may be recalled that Prime Minister Imran Khan arrived in the capital Kabul on his first visit to Afghanistan at the invitation of the Afghan President.

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Trade Adviser Abdul Razzaq Dawood, Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Faiz Hameed and Special Representative for Afghanistan Muhammad Sadiq also accompanied the Prime Minister. Strict security arrangements have been made in Kabul on the occasion of the Prime Minister’s visit.

It may be recalled that in September this year, there was a telephone conversation between Prime Minister Imran Khan and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani.
