PM Khan submits response to ECP show-cause notice.

Prime Minister Imran Khan, through his counsel, has submitted a reply to showcause notice issued to him by ECP and stated in reply that he did not participated in any political activity during his visit to Ghotki.

According to the reports of Baaghitv, Election Commission of Pakistan had issued a show-cause notice to Prime Minister Imran Khan for visiting Ghotki, where by-poll elections are to be held in constituency NA-205 on July 11, 2019.

Imran Khan in reply to Election Commission of Pakistan, through his counsel stated he has not violated Clause B-17 of the Election Code of Ethics, which bars President, Prime Minister, Parliamentarians and cabinet members from engaging themselves in any political activity during supplementary elections. In reply it has been stated that the petition filed against him is ‘baseless, false and concocted’ which should be withdrawn and a copy of petition should be provided along with oath statement of petitioner.

The NA-205 seat fell vacant due to demise of Sardar Ali Muhammad Khan Mahar who was a part of cabinet and it is to be contested between PPP and GDA who is supported by PTI.
