PM Khan to meet national cricket team players today

ISLAMABAD: Players of the national cricket team, the ones who were announced to be playing for the T20 World Cup, will meet Prime Minister Imran Khan today.

According to sources, the meeting will be held at the Prime Minister’s House at 4 pm today.

The meeting will also be attended by Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Rameez Raja who will brief the Prime Minister on the talks with the board heads after the cancellation of New Zealand and UK tours to Pakistan.

Besides that, the Prime Minister will be informed about the new strategy of the cricket board after the non-arrival of international teams in Pakistan. He will also give tips and mentor the team on strategies to boost their morale.

The Prime Minister, who is also the PCB’s patron-in-chief, will further be briefed on the new domestic calendar. The Chairman PCB will brief him on the changes in the Board.

It is to be noted that Information Minister Fawad Chaudary stated that legal action will be taken against the New Zealand and England cricket since their cancelling of the tours cost the Pakistan Television (PTV) millions of rupees.
