PM Office Returns Loans Inquiry Commission Report for Further Investigation
Islamabad August 10 (Online Int’l): For the first time in the history of Pakistan, the Prime Minister Office has returned the inquiry commission report for further investigation.
The inquiry commission conducted an inquiry into the country’s Rs24,000 billion loans. The Prime Minister returned the inquiry report along with some additional questions as well as recommendations. In this regard, Prime Minister Imran Khan gave a special task to Shahzad Akbar. The Prime Minister wants a NAB investigation into the corruptions and misuse of authority and action against responsible.
According to sources, an estimated Rs1000 billion losses are alleged in the development projects initiated between 2008 and 2018. The inquiry was conducted into more than 1000 development projects, including Orange Line Train and BRT-Peshawar.
The inquiry report hold responsible many high ups in the economic affairs division and the ministry of finance. Misuse of power has also been identified in many development projects. The sources said that the inquiry commission recommended inquiry against the responsible in many development projects.
