
Lahore, 9th October: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan welcomes Facebook investments and programmes in Pakistan.
Baaghi TV: Prime Minister Imran Khan and Facebook’s Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg held a virtual meeting on Friday to discuss the social media giant’s investments in Pakistan.
The Prime Minister expressed concern over the growing online hatred and extremism in a virtual meeting with Facebook’s Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg, the two also discussed Facebook’s communication investment and research grant.
According to the statement, the Prime Minister and Facebook’s Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg discussed Facebook’s investment, digital literacy and other initiatives in a virtual meeting.
Imran Khan welcomed the investment of Facebook and various programs in Pakistan. The Prime Minister praised the role of Facebook in providing opportunities to youth and business people.
Facebook’s Chief Operating Officer said that more than 5 million Pakistanis have signed up for Facebook’s blood donation campaign, which includes Facebook’s full support for the goal of a polio-free government of Pakistan.
The Prime Minister and Chief Operating Officer of Facebook, Shirley Sandberg, also spoke about Facebook’s She Means Business Program, a training program for 6,700 women.
Welcoming Facebook’s investment and various programs in Pakistan, he said that such platforms would help the youth in eradicating opportunities and poverty.
