PML-N managed to get the most votes in Lahore Cantonment Board Elections, reveals a report by Fafan.
According to Fafan’s report, PTI proved to be the most successful party in terms of seats while PML-N proved to be the most successful party in terms of votes.
According to the election results, PML-N won 59 seats with more than 27% of the vote. The ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) won 63 seats with more than 26% of the vote. According to sources, the independent candidates got more than 20% of the total votes, while the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) could barely get more than 6%.
The banned Tehreek-e-Libya was the fourth largest political party in terms of votes, but did not win a single seat.
On the other hand, after the September 12 elections, the results of 212 wards have come out so far, in which the PTI could barely win the first position. According to the results so far, the PTI has won 63 wards, while the opposition PML-N has won 59 seats. Independent candidates also won a large number of seats during the cantonment board elections. So far, a total of 52 independent candidates have won, while the ruling party in Sindh and the PPP, which dreams of forming the next government in the federation, have won only 17 seats.
While 10 candidates of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), seven candidates of Jamaat-e-Islami, two candidates of Baluchistan Awami Party (BAP) and two candidates of Awami National Party (ANP) were declared successful.
Despite coming first in the cantonment board election results, the results are being described as worrisome for the PTI. Especially in Punjab, the PTI failed to break the opposition PML-N. According to political analysts, due to the policies of PML-N leadership in Punjab, the party carried out a clean sweep in Punjab.
It was informed that the results of seven wards have not been received so far, the election has been postponed in some of these wards, while the results of some wards will be released soon.
