Police constable killed, several persons injured in different incidents

India: Two persons including a police constable were killed and several others injured in different incidents of violence in disturbed Indian state of Chhattisgarh.

The police constable, Sanjay Kumar Vedja (30) was murdered with sharp-edged weapon in Patakutru area of Bijapur district of the state.

In a similar incident, a 45-year-old Dhurva Dharmaiyya believed to be a police informer was abducted and killed by unknown persons in Aaipenta area of the same district.

On the other hand, one District Reserve Group (DRG) identified as Ajay Mandawi was injured in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast in Kurush area of the district.

Meanwhile, three policemen constables Shankar Lal, Khirendra Nag and Lalit Pujari were injured when an IED exploded during a training exercise at the Jungle Warfare College (JWC) in Kanker district of same state.
