Police employs force to curb protests against Corona SOPs: Bangladesh

April 6, 2021: According to the report of BaaghiTV, the dangerous corona virus that originated in China has spread all over the world, many countries have imposed lockdown due to corona. Bangladesh also has a lockdown due to Corona virus and the government has imposed restrictions on which citizens came out of their houses and protested against the lock-down,  did not follow the SOPs which led to the police action. police opened fire on demonstrators.

According to reports by Bangladesh district Fareed Pur police department, the police were also injured in the exchange of fire. Protestors also attacked houses and set vehicles alight.

Police say a group of protesters threw bricks at a police station and vandalized government offices in the town, damaging an officer’s house and two cars. Police claim the citizens attacked the police station.

Police did not provide any casualty figures for the shooting, but Abdul Matin, a doctor in the emergency ward of the government-run Faridpur Medical College Hospital, said three people were in critical condition. One of the injured was shot in the buttocks, another in the chest and a third in both legs.

It should be noted that due to the increase in cases of corona virus in Bangladesh, the government has imposed a one-week lockdown from yesterday. Corona virus has killed 9,155 people in Bangladesh, while more than 624,000 cases have been reported.
