Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of police who laid down their lives while protecting the fellow people.

In his message on Youm-e-Shuhda-Police, PPP Chairman said, “Police have rendered great sacrifices in war against terrorism. Salute to martyrs, the real heroes,” according to a press statement.

He further said that police personnel of the country who embraced martyrdom fighting the terrorists and criminals were heroes of the nation and we all are proud of them,

While expressing solidarity with the martyrs’ families, the PPP leader said the police force has always fought valiantly against the terrorists and hardened criminals as evident from their brave resistance to the terror attack on Karachi Stock Exchange a month ago.

Notably, Police Martyrs Day was observed for the fifth consecutive year on the death anniversary of Shaheed Safwat Ghayur, the commandant of Frontier Constabulary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police who was martyred in a suicide attack on his vehicle on 4th August, 2010.

Special events are being held at provincial headquarters and at district level to highlight the services of police force. Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar laid a floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada in Lahore and said the martyrs are our pride.

Likewise, Karachi East DIG placed floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada in the city and prayed for the martyrs. Malir and Karachi East SSPs also paid a visit to the graves of martyred officials along with other officers.
