Political Leaders took it to Twitter to congratulate the Green Shirts on their second win of the tournament against New Zealand.

As per sources and the social media, the whole of Pakistan is happy to have beaten the New Zealand cricket team. Political leaders, from the Prime Minister to the opposition have taken it to Twitter to show appreciation for the team.

To many, this is team Pakistan’s way of sending a message to New Zealand in which the people of Pakistan have expressed their views after the security threat incident. By defeating the Black Caps in the T20 World Cup match by 5 wickets, the Green Shirts have paved the way for reaching the semi-finals.

Government and political leaders had congratulated the national team after defeating India as well. After the defeat of New Zealand, slogans of security were raised on the ground.

Pakistan beat New Zealand by 5 wickets to clinch their second victory in the tournament.

The New Zealand team is also being mocked on social media. Twitter user David Ellis said that Weldon Pakistan has successfully solved the security problem.

On the second consecutive victory of Pakistan, the Prime Minister’s Office congratulated the Pakistani team on Twitter.

Pakistan President Dr. Arif Alvi while congratulating the national team said:

“The Green Shirts performed brilliantly, maintaining their winning streak. Haris Rauf bowled and Asif Ali batted brilliantly to lead Pakistan to victory.”

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar also looked enthusiastic on Pakistan’s victory and while congratulating said:

Expressing his happiness, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry wrote on Twitter that the success that Pakistan has achieved today proves that success comes from teamwork.

Other political leaders, inclusive of Sheikh Rashid, Shahbaz Sharif and Mufti Shahab Uddin Popalzai also took to Twitter to congratulate and encourage the national team players.
