PPP seeks CJP’s help for fair by-poll in Ghotki.

The Pakistan People’s Party has asked Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa to play his due role in holding a fair by-poll in Ghotki’s NA-205 constituency.

According to reports of Baaghitv, PPP Secretary General has penned down a letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Asif Saeed Khosa to ensure transparency and fair play in by-elections, to be held in Ghotki’s NA-205 constituency on July 18.

He expressed fear that our political opponents are using their executive power to cast their impact on the by-elections and a plethora of steps have been taken against our candidate in this regard. He said, “Our opponents are using all executive powers as local government office holders. This issue has been highlighted through our letter dated 04.07.2019 written to the ECP. However, no response in respect of the same can be seen, thus far.”

This is one of the hotly contested by-election after the General Elections held in July 2018. This seat fell vacant following the death of Ali Mohammed Mahar of GDA Grand Democratic Alliance who died on May 21, 2019. He was serving as Federal Minister for Narcotics Control in PM Imran Khan’s cabinet.
