President Djibouti National Parliament Weighs in on Gwadar Port
2nd January 2020: President Djibouti National Parliament Acting Chairman African Union Parliament Muhammad Ali Houmed has said that our country and Pakistan have many values in common. Djibouti also has a shipping port and sea. Its people are hardworking and sincere to their country.
“I invite the industrialists to come to our country for export and import business in Djibouti.”
Referring to Gwadar Port, he said that Deep Sea Port Gwadar is a game changer for the region due to its important trade route. Addressing a function held at China Business Center Gwadar on saturday, Gwadar Port Authority Chairman Naseer Kashani welcomed the foreign parliamentary delegation led by the President of Djibouti National Parliament on a goodwill visit to Gwadar Port and said in a briefing that Gwadar Port.

He said that Gwadar Deep Sea Port is of economic importance to investors from all over the world and a trade corridor to boost shipping trade. Shahzeb, kakar Director General, Gwadar Development Authority, in his briefing to the foreign parliamentary delegation, said that two authorities are working in Gwadar, handling operating GPA port and GDA Gwadar.
The city is making rapid progress towards modernization to make it an important industrial city of the future. Gwadar is working under the Gwadar Economic Development Master Plan for the development of Free Zone adjacent to Gwadar Port and Economic Zone. The development work of Free Zone is in rapid stages of completion. He said in the briefing that the construction of East Expressway to link Gwadar Port with Coastal Highway is in the final stages.
National anthems of both the countries were also played at the ceremony. A delegation of Djibouti National Parliament also visited Gwadar Port. On the occasion of the visit of the Djibouti Parliamentary delegation to Gwadar, a representative delegation of Gwadar Chamber of Commerce meet and gave a dinner in honor of the guests. One and DG GDA Shahzeb Kakar participated.
Earlier, Commissioner Makran Division Tariq Qamar presented Balochi awards to the Djibouti National Parliamentary delegation that paid a goodwill visit to Gwadar in view of the regional tradition. The delegation also included women members. The foreign delegation left for Islamabad after completing its visit to Gwadar on Saturday.
