Prime Minister Imran Khan postpones Gilgit-Baltistan visit.
According to reports, the visit has been cancelled due to inclement weather. The PM was scheduled to inaugurate various projects in Gilgit. He was set to announce a development package for the region, plans for supply of internet were also included.

Following his recovery from COVID-19, a high level meeting for the development of Gilgit-Baltistan was held under the Chairmanship of PM Khan. Minsters Asad Umar, Muhammad Hamad Azhar, Murad Saeed, Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Khalid Khurshid, Deputy Chairman Planning Commission and others were in attendance.

According to reports, Prime Minister Khan stated that the projects would open a new development chapter in the region leading to effective solutions for problems in the region, including availability of job opportunities to the youth.

Addressing the meeting, PM Imran Khan said that the development o Gilgit-Baltistan is a priority of the PTI Government. The region has potential for tourism which needs to be harnessed, for which special attention needs to be paid to the promotion of tourism and environmental protection.
