Prime Minister to visit Bahawalpur on August 11: Khusro Bakhtiar
Lahore: Federal Minister for Industries and Production Khusro Bakhtiar and Provincial Minister for Finance Hashim Jawan Bakht visited Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan Industrial Estates managed by Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company.
Both Ministers reviewed the development work in the Estates and termed the activation of the grid station in Rahim Yar Khan Industrial Estate as an important milestone for the Industrial Revolution in South Punjab. Members of Provincial and National Assemblies, Commissioner Bahawalpur Captain retired Zafar Iqbal and other concerned officers were also present on the occasion. General Manager Technical PIEDMC Farrukh Johri apprised the ministers about the status of development works and facilities being provided by the PIEDMC. Both Ministers appreciated the efforts of PIEDMC for setting up state of the art industrial zones in Punjab. Talking on the occasion, Federal Minister Khusro Bakhtiar said that the visit of Prime Minister of Pakistan to Bahawalpur is scheduled on August 11, In order to accelerate the process of colonization in these states, Prime Minister would be requested to direct concerned departments to expedite the provision of utilities. He said that with the activation of grid station in Rahim Yar Khan Industrial estate uninterrupted power supply would be possible. He further said that industrial estates are given the status of Special Economic Zones to provide relief to the industrialists which will not only pave the way of industrial development but also create millions of new jobs.
