Protest after suspension of Channel 24 license
According to Baaghi TV report, employees of 24 News staged a peaceful protest outside Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) demanding their rights which can be seen in the video below. The justification for torturing and firing on journalists was found to be that the security personnel were forced to do so.
Employees and journalists of 24 News Channel were protesting against the suspension of the channel’s license. It should be noted that the PEMRA has suspended the broadcasting of Channel 24 news and current affairs for violating the licences and rules.

A statement issued by PEMRA said that under the license issued by Central Media Network, it was authorized to run entertainment related content on Value TV channel while, the company is illegally broadcasting news and current affairs content in the name of 24 News in violation of all PEMRA rules.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz on Monday said the protest following suspension of Channel-24 licence was very unfortunate as respecting law was the duty of all Pakistanis.
Tagging the notification of PEMRA, the minister, in a tweet, said disregard of all notices had resulted in suspension of the licence of channel 24.
