PSL 6: A player from Islamabad United tests positive for COVID-19

Lahore, 1st March: A player from Islamabad United has tested positive for coronavirus.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, a layer from the Islamabad United squad has tested positive for COVID-19 ahead of the clash with Quetta Gladiators on Monday.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed on Monday that the match scheduled to begin at 7 pm, has been delayed by two hours and will now start at 9 pm.

As per reports from Geo News, the players who are staying at the hotel are awaiting the results of the rapid coronavirus tests.

Islamabad United has also confirmed that one of their players had tested positive, while all of the other players have been cleared to play.

Islamabad United posted on their official Twitter account, “One of our players, Fawad Ahmed tested positive for Covid and was immediately put in isolation 2 days ago. All other Islamabad United players & members have tested negative & have been cleared to play.”

As per the protocol by the PCB, the player tested positive, will remain in isolation until he returns with two negative results in 10 days time.

Meanwhile, Fawad Ahmed on Twitter asked everyone to remember him in their prayers, as he thanked people for their kind messages.

He wrote, “Thanks for all the kind messages, please keep remember me in ur prayers, much needed @IsbUnited @thePSLt20, and please everyone stay safe.”
