Lahore, 19th May: The remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) sixth edition have been postponed for an indefinite period of time.

According to the latest reports, the reason for the indefinite postponement of the PSL 2021 has come to the light.

According to sources, despite the green signal from the UAE government, very strict conditions were imposed for the PSL event which made it difficult to hold it.

It is said that the franchises had to bear a heavy cost to hold the league abroad. Sources have also informed that there were issues of players and staffers being injected with the coronavirus vaccine.

As per reports from the PCB, Chief Executive Wasim Khan, who is in England, was chairing the meeting, and the board’s chairman Ehsan Mani was in Lahore.

However, the board’s chief operating officer Salman Naseer was in Abu Dhabi along with PCB’s 7-member team to finalize the tournament’s preparations.

The decision to postpone the Pakistan Super League matches was taken keeping in view the operational hurdles. This important decision was made in a meeting between the PSL franchise and the management.
It may be noted that the remaining 20 matches of PSL 6 were scheduled from June 1.

It may be recalled that so far 14 matches were played in Pakistan between February and March 2021, but for delayed after a few players and staff members tested positive for COVID-19.
