LAHORE: Lahore Qalandars won by 6 runs against Islamabad United in the final ‘do-or-die’ eliminator round of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2022 at Gaddafi Stadium on Friday. Qalandars’ sensational victory against Islamabad reached its climax in the final over.

David Weise’s last over heroics paved the way for Lahore Qalandars to reach straight into the finals of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 7. Earlier, David Weise’s three sixes and one four in the last over helped Lahore Qalandars post a fighting 168-run target on the board.

Lahore won the toss and decided to bat first. Qalandars struggled initially when opening batsman, Fakhar Zaman was removed by William Dawson who bowled a brilliant new-ball spell. Thereafter, Abdullah alongside Kamran Ghulam forged a crucial 73-run partnership to steer the innings against the good bowling of United Islamabad.

Ghulam rotated the strike to keep the scoreboard ticking, while Abdullah held his ground against the opponent bowlers as he notched three sixes and four fours in a 28 ball knock.

Things worsened for Lahore Qalandars when Abdullah was sent to pavilion by Waqas Mehmood making it difficult for Lahore Qalandars to carve runs quick.

They also dispalyed brilliant fielding as Harry Brook was run-out by a brilliant throw from Muhammad Wasim, and Samit Patel was caught by Muhmmad Huraira who took a brilliant catch.
