Jan 30, 2022: Lahore Qalandars beat Karachi Kings by six wickets in Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Sunday thanks to brilliant batsman Fakhr Zaman’s century.

In match 6 of the PSL tournament, the Qalandars won the toss and elected to field first. This was the third consecutive defeat of Karachi Kings. After excellent batting by Sharjeel Khan and Babar Azam, Karachi Kings gave Lahore Qalandars a target of 171 runs. After being invited to bat, the Kings scored 170-7 with a run rate of 8.50, but no batsman other than the opener has been able to do so. The Kings were playing smoothly till the 10th over but then Qalandars captain Shaheen Afridi fielded veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez for bowling.

On his first ball, Hafeez broke the opening stand of 84 runs by dismissing Sharjeel Khan 60. After the crucial wicket, Zaman Khan (15) sent Muhammad Nabi back to the pavilion and managed to get the wicket of Rashid Khan Babar (41) in the 15th over. Qalandars bowlers gave a thrilling performance, Haris Rauf took three wickets while Hafeez, Rashid, Zaman and Shaheen took one wicket each.
