Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said he did not take revenge after coming to power and political persecution has never yielded any positive results.

PM recalled political cases in the last regime of Imran Khan.

The prime minister said “terrorists and elements who are enemies of the state” should immediately desist from their “anti-state activities”, warning that the “miscreants” would otherwise be dealt with an iron hand.

“They will be given an exemplary punishment.”

The premier said the “ protection of the state and ideology of Pakistan is more precious to us than our lives and we will not allow anyone to conspire against it“.

He added, “Nor will we let their nefarious designs be accomplished.”

Shehbaz Sharif has said that the “real role” and responsibility of political leadership is to not allow their workers to trespass legal boundaries during any arrests.

“As a political worker, we can’t express happiness on any arrest. This is indeed a bitter moment of life through which we have passed,” he said.

However, he alleged that the PTI and party chairman Imran Khan had committed the “unforgivable crime” of enmity against the state through their actions after the former premier’s arrest.
