PTI government indulging in new methods of corruption?
According to reports of Baaghi TV, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, is indulging in new methods of corruption.
According to reports, the government is involved in wasting away the people’s money collected through tax and other means of revenue by redeveloping new roads.
Baaghi TV has received a short video according to which citizens have pointed out the inappropriate waste of resources on a section of the Burki road in Lahore. This section is allegedly being redeveloped even though the road is in good enough condition. The citizens have argued that the government instead of putting effort into things that deserve timely attention, are wasting perfectly good resources in making changes that are not needed.
It is pertinent to note, that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) which is a united front for the Opposition namely PML-N, PPP, JUI, JUI-F and others has been very vocal about the negligent and inefficient governance of the ruling party.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif, leader of the PML-N has on multiple occasions, questioned the leadership of PM Khan. With the global community, Nawaz has questioned the decisions being implemented to control COVID-19 in Pakistan. On one occasion, pertaining to the closure of academic institutes due to the second wave of Corona virus, Maryam Nawaz argued that exams for all students have been postponed but not those of medical students. Nawaz had further argued that the government’s decision highlights their lack of concern for the lives of the healthcare workers and future doctors.
As can be seen from the 2 minutes 11 second long video, one citizen has pointed out the the road going to Saddar has been dug up and closed down from one side. only for corruption. The men have argued that anti-corruption has only been put in place for ordinary citizens for us. They have added that no development projects are being carried out in the poorer communities.
If this is what Naya Pakistan stands for, perhaps the time has come for PM Khan to re-evaluate his strategy and work towards a better governance plan because the people of Pakistan can see no difference between Pakistan and the ‘Naya Pakistan’ of PM Khan.
