PTI Minister loses it over Mehwish Hayat’s new ad
Lahore, 5th October: Pakistani actress Mehwish Hayat’s new advertisement for a biscuit company has taken the nation by storm.
But this time the nation is not swept over with one of her advertisements, rather people and notable personalities of the country have shown displeasure over the indecent content that is being displayed on the national television.
Baaghi TV: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Ali Muhammad Khan has slammed actress Mehwish Hayat over a recent biscuit commercial (TVC) in which she could be seen dancing.
PEMRA issues directive regarding ads on TV channels
Mehiwsh Hayat shared her TVC for the Gala Biscuit company on her Twitter handle:

However, much to everyone’s surprise, the ad has not been taken in a light manner but has been criticized harshly.
Pakistan journalist Ansar Abbasi was the first one to report about the indecent moves in the advertisement. He pointed out about the obscene dance moves and that too for a biscuit commercial was highly uncalled for.
He asked the authorities at PEMRA and PM Khan to take action against such indecent content.

Minister Ali Muhammad Khan, on the other hand, added fuel to fire as he tweeted to call the same advert “anti-Islamic”.
PM @ImranKhanPTI Sahb is totally against such anti Islamic stuff on media which is against our cultural norms & has damaging effects on our youth.

He wrote, “Prime Minister is totally against such anti-Islamic stuff on media which is against our cultural norms & has damaging effects on our youth. No place for such absurdity in an Islamic state, which was made on the Kalima Tayyaba.”
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Science & Technology Fawad Chaudhry took a dig at journalist Ansar Abbasi and Minister Khan.

He said, “Why do you and Ali keep searching for obscenity 24 hours a day? Do something productive.”

It may be remembered that last month journalist Abbasi drew the attention of social media users, PM Khan and Asim Bajwa, the Special Assistant to the PM on Information to the video of a woman exercising on state-owned PTV.
Among many notable people who criticized Abbasi, renowned anchor Mubasher Lucman was also seen taking a dig at the journalist.
Lucman wrote, “What’s wrong here? Why do you watch TV at all? Get well soon.”
