Pulwama attack: NIA files chargesheet against Maulana Masood Azhar

Pulwama, (Baaghi TV): India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against 19 people, including Jaish-e-Muhammad chief Masood Azhar.

The charge sheet was filed in a special NIA court in Jammu. The NIA has filed a 13,500-page chargesheet 18 months after the Pulwama suicide attack. In this charge sheet, the names of 19 persons including Jaish-e-Muhammad chief Maulana Masood Azhar have been included as accused.

Apart from Jaish-e-Muhammad chief, the names of his brothers Abdul Rauf Asghar and Ammar Alvi and nephew Umar Farooq have also been included in the charge sheet. A suicide attack in the Lathapura area of ​​Pulwama on February 14, 2019, killed 40 CRPF men and injured several others. Relations between India and Pakistan had soured after the attack. Pakistan has been accused of involvement in the chargesheet.

The chargesheet added that phone calls were received from the militants, which contained several pre-suicide plans and photographs.

According to South Asian Wire, the charge sheet states that a man running a furniture shop in Laithpura gave full information to Adil Dar about the convoy of paramilitary forces, after which the attack was carried out. Of the 19 people named, seven are in NIA custody. The charge sheet includes the names of Masood Azhar, Rauf Asghar Alvi, Ammar Alvi and Muhammad Ismail. Also in the charge sheet are Shakir Bashir of Kakapura, Pulwama, Insha Jan, Pir Tariq Ahmed Shah, Mohammad Abbas Rather, Bilal Ahmed Kachche of Lal Har of Pulwama, Muhammad Iqbal Rather of Charar Sharif of Budgam, Waizul Islam of Srinagar.

The deceased have been identified as Sameer Ahmed Dar, resident of Kakapura Pulwama, Ashiq Ahmed Nangro, resident of Rajpura Pulwama, Adil Ahmed Dar, Mohammad Omar Farooq, Mohammad Kamran Ali, Sajjad Ahmed Butt, resident of Bajbara, Mudassar Ahmed Khan, resident of Ontipora Pulwama, Qari Yasir.
