Punjab government issues lockdown notification with following details

LAHORE, 25th April: The Punjab government has issued a lockdown notification for May 9 keeping in view the increasing toll of the coronavirus in the province.

Reports received by Baaghi TV said that all markets, shopping malls, restaurants, government, and private offices will remain closed. The movement of people within the province and other cities will be restricted.

The notification said that social, religious celebrations, festivals, sports festivals, gyms, and snooker clubs will be banned. The wedding halls, wedding ceremonies, educational institutions, schools, colleges, medical colleges, technical and vocational institutes, universities, tuition centers, religious seminaries, and exams will be banned.

The Punjab government has stated in the lockdown notification till May 9 that government officers will be able to go to their offices, law enforcement agencies, and related agencies will be able to perform their duties. Employees will be able to go on duty.

The notification said that retail and grocery stores will be allowed to operate from 9 am to 5 pm. The dairy shops will be opened for Sehri from 2 am to 4 am. The milk and meat shops will be opened from 9 am to 8 pm. The employees of Utility Companies, Wasa, Municipality, WAPDA, NTDC, Discus, and SNGPL will be able to work. The notification added that essential people of mobile companies, franchises, and customer support will be able to perform their duties.

Federal Government decides to extend Lockdown for another 15 days

The Punjab government has stated in the notification that the employees working in PTCL and its towers will be able to work. The employees of defense related manufacturing industry and packing facility providers will be able to work.

The notification said that securities and exchanges company, central depository company, national clearing company, merchandise exchange company will work with their staff.

The Punjab government has said in the lockdown notification that the staff of the Ahsas program and the related staff will also work.  Institutions in which laboratories and pharmaceutical faculties will be allowed to function, funeral prayers, and related programs will be allowed. Call centers, e-commerce businesses and local delivery companies will be allowed to keep 50% of staff.

The Punjab government has said that banks will be able to work with their required staff. Retail stores, general, grocery stores, bakeries, flour mills, dairy shops, chicken and meat, fish, fruits and vegetables, auto workshops, tire punctures, spare parts, petrol pumps, and oil depots will remain open.

Restaurant takeaways and home delivery will also remain open. LPG outlets, filling plants, and supply chain stores will remain open. The notification said that postal courier services, pick-up and drop-offs would be allowed to reach the doorsteps.

The Punjab government also stated that the customs dry ports operation will be allowed to operate. Poultry feed, personal protection equipments will be allowed to be made and supplied. Identity card will be required for verification, staff of refinery companies will also be allowed to work.

Tractor, and its equipment manufacturers, pharmaceutical industries will be allowed to operate the company. The notification said that staff of cement plants and industry will be allowed to do. News hawkers and media personnels will be allowed to work.
