Punjab to set up 8,000 rural centers: SMBR

Lahore: Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR) Babar Hayat Tarar has said that 7,000-8,000 rural centers will be set up across Punjab and NADRA has been allowed to provide data on death and mortality.

He was talking to reporters here at the PDMA office Wednesday.

He said that 800 rural centres have been set up and the number will be taken to 4000 by December.

He said that the integration was going to be done on the basis of modern technology and the consolidation process across the province would be completed soon.

Field Book and Gurdwari are being digitized and given legal cover to every reform, he said, adding that work has started on digitization of consolidation in Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur and Muzaffargarh, Chiniot, Hafizabad and Khushab.

He added that the gurdwara has not been repaired for the last 40 years.

He said that the record of everything from crops, water, owners and farmers will be digitized through digitized gurdwari.

Digitization of 200,000 khasras has been completed and the average production in each area will be accurately estimated, he said, explaining Punjab would be 100% digitized in two months.

Ensuring that Patwari is going on the spot, owners and farmers are going on the spot, transparency will be ensured.

He said that the numberdars would be dismissed for not reporting the occupation of state lands.
