Qaim Ali Shah’s interim bail extended till 19th Dec

ISLAMABAD, Dec 09 (APP):The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Monday extended the pre-arrest bail of former chief minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah till December 19, in Sindh Roshan programme case connected with fake accounts scam.

A division bench comprising Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhter Kiyani conducted hearing on interim bail plea of former CM and PPP’s leader Qaim Ali Shah in corruption case.

During the course of proceeding, Justice Kiyani asked the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials to submit their response against the plea to which NAB prosecutor said that his department had not issued arrest warrants so far against the petitioner. The NAB had no intention to arrest Qaim Ali Shah until an arrest warrants were issued for him, he said.

The petitioner’s lawyer prayed the court for not to dispose of the petition rather extend the interim bail of his client. He pleaded that his client was not involved in any corruption in this case, adding that former chief minister had only gave approval for the programme. The court accepted the request of petitioner and extended the interim bail of Qaim Ali Shah till next date of hearing.
