Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Fadad Chaudhary has clearly announced that tomorrow the moon will be visible on the coast of Karachi and Gwadar and Eid ul-Fitr will be on Wednesday. The meeting of the Ruet e Hilal Committee will be held on Tuesday for the moon sighting, but before that, Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai has announced Eid al-Fitr.

There have been many issues related to the moon sighting in Pakistan. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar, Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai of Masjid Qasim Khan locally announced the moon of Ramadan and Shawal.

For many years, in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the rituals are celebrated against the decision of the Ruet e Halal Committee, this year also Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai announced Eid a day earlier. For some years Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been asking by some constituencies to make Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai  thechairman of Ruet e Hilal Committee in place of Mufti Munib-ur-Rehman.
