Lahore, 22nd April: China has confirmed that its ambassador to Pakistan was not present in the hotel at the time of the blast that took place yesterday night in a five-star hotel.
The Chinese embassy in Pakistan confirmed on Thursday that its ambassador Nong Rong was not in the hotel where a suicide blast took place on Wednesday in Quetta.
According to reports, 5 people got killed and 11 others injured when a suicide bomber detonated himself in the parking area of Serena Hotel in Quetta.
It is pertinent to mention here that that Chinese ambassador Nong Rong was in Quetta the same day leading a delegation. However, China has clarified that Rong was not present in the hotel at the time of the blast.
A statement from the Chinese embassy in Pakistan read, “When the attack occurred, the Chinese delegation was not in the hotel. Till present, no reports of casualties of the Chinese citizen.”
Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Arif Alvi strongly condemned the attack. China also offered condolences over the loss of lives in the incident.
