Born on August 20, 1944, the late Rajiv Gandhi became the sixth and youngest Prime Minister of India at the age of 40. His term was from 1984 to 1989. After the assassination of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1984, when he suddenly got the Prime Minister’s chair, he was only 40 years old. Rajiv Gandhi, who had undergone pilot training, did not want to enter politics, but circumstances made him the youngest Prime Minister of India.
