Rain exposes poor sewerage, as Karachi looks like a pond

Baaghi TV: Karachi began to look like a pond. City streets turn into streams. Vehicles were swept away. Rainwater enters homes. The situation is worse in Shara Faisal, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Saddar. People facing severe difficulties. Flight operations affected. Several flights were diverted. The rain is likely to continue at night.

The heaviest rainfall was recorded in Gulshan-e-Hadid. The cattle market on the Super Highway for Eid-ul-Adha was also washed away. The sacrificial animals came under the sky. Residential houses near Liaqatabad Gujjar Nalla were flooded which increased the hardships of the residents. As soon as the this started, 500 electric feeders stopped working.

Several hours later, the technical fault of three hundred feeders was rectified. Load shedding is still going on in most areas. Power has not been restored in Malir, Landhi, Korangi and Liaquatabad.

Various blocks of Old City Area, Gulistan-e-Jauhar and FB Area are facing power outage. When the rains stopped, the Sindh government ministers visited the city to assess the situation and directed the concerned officers to complete the drainage works as soon as possible.
