ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistan captain and commentator Rameez Raja has replaced Ehsan Mani as the new chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
According to the details, former chairman PCB Ehsan Mani and Rameez Raja called on Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan and discussed the issues of the board. According to sources, Prime Minister Imran Khan informed Ehsan Mani about the decision not to extend it for the next three years while also appointed Rameez Raja as the new chairman of the board.
Sources said that Prime Minister Imran Khan will send the name of Rameez Raja to the Board of Governors as a member.
Will Rameez Raja succeed Ehsan Mani as Chairman PCB?
It s too be noted that PM Imran Khan was dissatisfied with the PCB chairman Ehsan Mani’s performance and decided not to extend his contract for the post anymore. As a result, Rameez Raja’s name cropped up as a potential successor. Amid growing speculation around his future as PCB chairman, Ehsan Mani met PM Khan earlier today.
According to media reports, Ehsan Mani briefed the Prime Minister on the changes in the structure of domestic cricket. Mani’s current term is due to end on August 25, two days after the meeting, though he has recently said he intends to continue in the post.
