Lahore (10th Nov, 2019): Pakistan’s cricketer-turned-commentator Ramiz Raja, in a Youtube video, claimed that we are the only side in the world that are incapable of learning from their mistakes.

The former cricketer stated that the Men in Green usually performed even poorer than their last match rather than moving forward.

“Whenever a team losses, it learns from its mistakes and moves forward. But this Pakistan side is the only side in the world that performs even poorer in the next match after losing,” Raja said.

The 57-year-old wondered how the players of the Pakistan team could ask the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for No Objection Certificates (NOC’s) or higher pay scales after their lacklustre performances.

“It seems like the Pakistan team has forgotten how to play. My first question for the team is how can they go in groups and ask the PCB to participate in more Twenty20 (T20) leagues around the world? How can they ask the PCB to increase their pay scales? All of these factors are related to your performance on the field. Your skills have become so obsolete that you should not even dare to talk about money,” he said.

Ramiz Raja pointed out the glaring mistakes in strategy while praising the efforts of middle-order batsman Iftikhar Ahmed.

“If they would have learned from their mistakes than how could they have sent Mohammad Rizwan, who was completely off colour, at number three? Haris Sohail is not performing at all. He decided to give himself some time, in the last match, but just couldn’t get out of that negative mindset,” he said.  “Iftikhar was the only positive here and his batting is good because he has all the shots and doesn’t pre-empt.”

The former cricketer was astonished by the lack of skills displayed by the players while particularly pointing out the deficiencies of the tail-enders in the side.

“We cannot see this team performing too well, because they don’t seem to learn from their mistakes. Their skill levels are very poor. We have seen the batting by tail-enders. You will not find any tail-enders in the international teams who can miss eight or nine straight deliveries,” he said.

Raja expressed anger at Pakistan’s recent performance and stated that the future did not look bright for the Men in Green.

“It makes everyone very angry. If this is your best format, and this was the best chance of defeating Australia then we can clearly see where we stand in the world of cricket. The World Cup is around the corner and we are trailing behind all other teams in that regard. I don’t think Pakistan can be competitive in the upcoming Test series either,” he concluded.
