Lahore, 22nd March, 7:15, PM: Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) leader Rana Sanaullah has asked NAB not to bar PML-N supporters to accompany Maryam Nawaz during her hearing.
Baaghi TV: According to reports, Rana Sanaullah asked the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) not to put obstacles in the way of PML-N workers who plan to accompany the party’s vice president Maryam Nawaz during her appearance before the bureau on March 26.
Addressing the media on Monday in Lahore, Sanaullah said that NAB should allow PML-N supporters to join Maryam Nawaz for her appearance and assured that they would remain peaceful.
He said, “Our workers should not be stopped. When NAB has summoned PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz then it should show courage and allow people to gather there to express solidarity with her and not put any obstacles in the way.”
Sanaullah has said that the legal notice issued to Maryam was unconstitutional and should be withdrawn.
Sanaullah has asked NAB not to seal up the area up to a kilometre from all four sides like it was done previously during Maryam’s last appearance before the NAB.
The PML-N leader said, “I take responsibility that none of our workers will resort to any sort of violence. We will gather there to express solidarity with our leader in a peaceful manner.”
It is to be noted that last Wednesday, NAB has summoned Maryam Nawaz to appear on March 26 in a money-laundering investigation regarding the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case after a gap of seven months.
It may also be remembered that since last August, NAB had not called upon Maryam Nawaz after the eruption of violence outside its Lahore headquarters when she arrived to record her statement in a case against her.
It is pertinent to mention here that Maryam is facing two investigations, money laundering in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case and illegal land acquisition in Raiwind. Investigations of both have been pending against her for quite some time.
According to reports of Baaghi TV, on Sunday, Chief of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Maulana Fazlur Rehman had said that thousands of party workers will accompany Maryam Nawaz during her appearance on March 26.
Meanwhile, Maryam Nawaz said that she will appear before the NAB, but warned that if the bureau tried to do anything wrong there, PML-N would fully resist.
