Rate of coronavirus cases decreased in Lahore, Dr Yasmin Rashid reveals

Lahore, 2nd May: The rate of coronavirus cases in Lahore has come down from 30% to 18%.

According to reports, a complete lockdown in Lahore on Saturday and Sunday has started to show better results, Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid said on Sunday.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Dr. Rashid said that closing everything from Iftar till Sahoor has been of great benefit.

She added, while our lockdown in Lahore has been most effective and the rate of coronavirus cases in Lahore has reduced from 30% to 18%. 

Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, she said that as many patients as are coming in at the hospitals are getting healthier.

She said that currently, there is no problem with oxygen demand, the cabinet committee has given permission to install oxygen generators in hospitals.

Strict adherence to SOPs can lead to further improvement.

Dr. Yasmin further said that efforts are being made to strictly adhere to SOPs during Eid and urged the citizens to celebrate Eid with simplicity.

She informed that seven new vaccination centers are being added, three are being set up in Lahore.

30 million doses of vaccine have been ordered and they will be available at the same time. She said that we will get 2 million more vaccines this month.

Dr. Yyasmin Rashid said that according to the data collected last week, an average of 55,000 vaccines were administered in the province on a daily basis.
