Rehman Malik advises to invoke Force-Majeure Law

Lahore, 30th April: Senator Rehman Malik has submitted a resolution in the senate regarding the request to waive off the foreign loans on Pakistan.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, PPP Senator Rehman Malik has written a letter to the PM Pakistan to appeal to the IMF, World Bank, US Aid, and other financial institutions to write off the foreign loans.

He has advised PM Khan to invoke ‘Force-Majeure Law’, according to which loans of a country can be waived off during the epidemic or crisis.

 

 

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Senator Rehman Malik has said that the government has discussed the petition in the Senate under the Force-Majeure law for waiver of foreign loans.

Senator Rehman Malik said that Force Majeure is a clear law that loans can be forgiven in epidemics like Corona and other natural calamities.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Senator Rehman Malik said that the coronavirus has completely jammed the country’s economy causing a huge drop in revenue and remittances.

Rehman Malik stressed that during the pandemic the government should appeal to the IMF and other foundations to exempt Pakistan from its foreign loans. He has also written a letter to the Prime Minister Imran Khan in this regard.
