Lahore, 18th April: Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Gangubai Kathiawadi’s release has suffered a delay in cinemas after which the director is considering releasing the film on the OTT platform.
According to Indian media reports, sources close to Sanjay Leela Bhansali have said that it is difficult to release Alia Bhatt’s upcoming film ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ in cinemas on July 30 due to the coronavirus pandemic in the country.
The director is considering releasing it on the Over-The-top (OTT) media platform.
Sources said that due to increasing cases of coronavirus in India, Sanjay Leela has no other option but to release the film on digital platforms.
According to reports, coronavirus cases are on the rise in India and several Bollywood actors have also fallen victim to the virus.
As per reports, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the main female lead of the movie Alia Bhatt had also contracted COVID-19, after which the shooting of the film has been postponed.
It is to be noted that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on a book written by Hussain Zaidi’s book ‘Mafia Queen of Mumbai’.
Apart from Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn will also be seen in a pivotal role in the film that will be released on July 30 this year.
