Reopening of Schools in Punjab to be decided soon

Lahore, 19th August: Punjab will decide on reopening schools in the first week of September.

A delegation of private school owners called on Punjab Minister for Education Dr. Murad Raas here in Lahore on Wednesday.

During the meeting, they discussed the standard operating procedures (SOPs) that schools must follow as well as for deciding when the school will reopen.

Reopening of schools may lead to second wave of COVID-19

Murad Raas said that the decision of when schools will open will be made in the first week of September and hence, can not be decided before that.

He confirmed that before the opening of schools teachers will be given proper instructions about the SOP’s and CEOs of all districts will also be given the same instructions. It is going to be vital for schools to abide by these instructions.

SOPs formulated to reopen schools in Punjab

Furthermore, the meeting also clarified questions about SOPs in accordance with those that are being followed by international organizations.

Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas hinted at the reopening of schools in two shifts across the province from September 15.

“We are mulling for reopening of schools in two shifts as it would be better for children”, the minister said in his statement.
