Srinagar: India’s Republic Day is a “black day for Kashmiris”, said the wife of Hurriyat leader Muhammad Yasin Malik on the occasion of India’s 73rd Republic Day.
Islamabad Chairperson Peace and Culture Organization and Hurriyat Leader, Muhammad Yasin Malik’s wife, in her message regarding 26th January, said that 26th January 1950 is not the Indian Republic Day but a Black Day for Kashmiri families. She said that 75 years ago, today, Indian armed forces descended upon Srinagar illegally occupying and subjugating the people of Jammu and Kashmir in clear violation of international law and humanitarian principles.
Mushaal Hussein Mullick said that since then till date Indian forces have carried out extreme atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Many mothers’ laps were ruined as many young people have been martyred by the Indian forces, thousands of young men and women have lost their sight due to Indian belt guns.

Mushaal Hussein Mullick said that on August 5, 2019, India inflicted another atrocity on the people in IIOJK and that is, a big conspiracy to change the demographic structure and disputed status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, and in this situation, the international community is playing the role of a silent spectator.
She said that, as usual, Pakistan rejected international law through relevant UN Security Council (UNSC) resolutions. Mushaal Hussein Mullick said that more than nine lakh Indian occupying forces have detained 8 million Kashmiris and turned the occupied territory into the largest open prison in the world.
She said that India’s inhumane military siege, continuous blockades, constant violence, brutal repression, and attempts to change the demographic structure of the occupied territories have exposed the true face of the Hindutva-led BJP government and the RSS’s extremist intentions.

Mullick added that they have proved that India cannot break their will by using brutal force.
The wife of Hurriyat leader Muhammad Yasin Malik further said, “I salute my Kashmiri mothers, sisters, elders, and brothers on the occasion of Black Day, for their sacrifices and their invincible spirit.”
