Rudy Giuliani barred from practicing law in New York

A New York court on Thursday, June 24, in a landmark decision revoked the license of Rudy Giuliani, a lawyer for former President Donald Trump, saying he was trying to turn Trump’s defeat into a victory in the 2020 presidential election.

According to the details, a disciplinary committee of lawyers had recommended to the court that since Giuliani tried to convince the court, the public and lawmakers that the election had been rigged and, in an attempt to do so, he used fake and false statements. His license to practice law should be revoked for making statements. The court ruled on the same recommendation.

The court ruled that the 2020 presidential election, “and the ongoing attacks on the legitimacy of our current president, Joe Biden, are causing the country to fall apart. Our democracy is characterized by free and fair elections.”
