Sakina Samo’s movie ‘Intezaar’ all set to premiere in the US

Lahore, 1st September: Veteran actress and producer Sakina Samo’s directorial movie ‘Intezaar’ is all set to premiere in New York at the Harlem International Film Festival. 

According to the report of Baaghi TV, the 15th ‘Harlem International Film Festival’ which was supposed to be held in May this year, but due to the pandemic, it got delayed and is now starting from September 10 to 13 in New York.

Music videos of 94 films and web series from 25 countries around the world will be screened out of which 47 are feature films, among those Pakistani film ‘Intezaar’ is also included.

The film was announced to be released in March, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the film could not be released.

The first-time director took to her Twitter account to share the exciting news with her fans.

A big shock to Maryam Nawaz

“Our Intezaar (Waiting) will have its world premiere at the Harlem International Film Festival in New York. See the link for all films being shown and how to watch online,” she tweeted.

Written by Bee Gul, known for her work in ‘Dar Si Jati Hai Sila’, the story revolves around a family’s patience. A father waiting for his family to leave him, a mother waiting for her son to come home, and a daughter taking care of her aging parents, waiting for them to pass on; loneliness, the indifference of children, and the fear of death, ever approaching.

The feature film will star Samina Ahmed, Khalid Ahmed, Kaif Ghaznavi, Raza Ali Abid, and Adnan Jaffar in leading roles.

It is hoped that the film will be released in other parts of the world, including Pakistan, after being screened at the Harlem Film Festival.

Samo has been rewarded with the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 2011, for her contribution to the Pakistani entertainment industry.
