Sale of a Peshawar Flying Club aircraft, Mubasher Lucman issues response
A meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Aviation was held in the Parliament House under the chairmanship of the Acting Chairman Senator Saleem Mandviwala. The meeting was attended by Senator Umar Farooq, Senator Sabir Shah, and Senator Afnanullah.
The issue of the Peshawar Flying Club’s plane being sold was also discussed in the meeting, officials said that one plane of Peshawar Flying Club has been sold. Senator Sabir Shah said that it should be made transparent to whom this aircraft has been sold. What procedure was adopted to sell it? In the meeting, Senator Afnanullah said that the aircraft had been sold to leading journalist Mubasher Lucman.

Regarding the sale of Peshawar Flying Club’s plane to the senior journalist and anchorperson during the Standing Committee meeting, when Mubasher Lucman was questioned by Baaghi TV, Lucman said: “Okay, this was ten to twelve years ago, I don’t remember. It was tendered twice and there was an open tender, through which I got this aircraft. However, what and why is it being mentioned now? I don’t know.”

In the meeting, Advisor Aviation told the committee that on August 7, the previous cabinet had handed over PIA (Pakistan International Airlines) to the Privatization Commission. At the end of September, PIA has been completely handed over to the Privatization Commission. PIA had a monthly income of 22 billion rupees, which was used to pay 10.5 billion of debt. 1.4 billion rupees was profit. In 10 billion, 5 billion was interest and the remaining 5 billion was returned to the original amount.
