Riyadh, 22nd May: The festival of Eid al-Fitr brings the holy month of Ramadan to the end, and marks one of the highlights of the Islamic calendar for the 1.6 billion people across the world who observe it.
Just like the start of Ramadan, the date of Eid is traditionally dependent on the sighting of the moon, meaning it cannot be predicted precisely.
According to Baaghi TV, the Shawwal moon in Saudi Arabia is not sighted today, due to which Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday the 24th of May.
This year Saudi Arabia and the Middle East will observe 30 fasts and will celebrate eid on Sunday.
